Our Story

General John J. Pershing Memorial Hospital, DBA Pershing Health System, is a twenty-five bed Critical Access Hospital. Pershing opened for business as a not-for-profit hospital on January 11, 1960 in Brookfield, Missouri.

To address the community’s need for a larger scope of services, in October of 2008 Pershing invested in a 38,000 square foot addition to the outpatient clinic and included a state of the art Emergency Room, updated Laboratory and Radiology Department. Community Medical Associates was brought into the hospital to provide more convenient access to ancillary departments and outpatient care.

In the autumn of 2012, Pershing added Occupational Therapy to their rehabilitative services department with an Occupational Therapist and a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant.

Pershing Health System provides care for all ages and provides a full range of services from the Clinic, Emergency Department, Outpatient Surgery, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Radiology and Lab Services.
