Pershing Health System Invites Community to Glow & Grow Women’s Health Fair. Women’s health will take center stage this fall as Pershing Health System hosts its Glow & Grow Health Fair on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Pershing Health System Hospital Lobby.
Designed around the theme “Empowered • Screen • Thriving,” the Glow & Grow Health Fair is a free community event that brings together healthcare professionals, local organizations, educational resources, wellness demonstrations, and preventive health screenings, all with the goal of helping women take charge of their health.
“Women are often so busy taking care of everyone else that they forget to make time for themselves,” said Brooklyn Murrell, Director of Imaging at Pershing Health System. “Glow & Grow is an opportunity to focus on your own health, learn about resources available in our community, and take advantage of preventive screenings that can make a real difference.”
One of the highlights of the Glow & Grow Health Fair is the opportunity to take advantage of affordable laboratory testing provided by Pershing Health System’s Laboratory. Experienced laboratory professionals will perform blood draws during the event, making it convenient for attendees to learn more about their health.
Available laboratory tests include a Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) with Lipids ($30), Complete Blood Count (CBC) ($15), Hemoglobin A1C ($20), Thyroid Panel ($30), Vitamin D ($20), Vitamin B12 ($10), PSA for men ($20), and an Iron Panel ($12).
Pershing Health System’s Imaging Department will also offer CT Heart Calcium Scoring for the special event price of $75 (regularly $100). This quick, non-invasive CT scan measures calcium buildup in the coronary arteries and can help detect early signs of heart disease before symptoms develop.
Attendees may purchase the discounted CT Heart Calcium Scan during the event and schedule their exam for a later date. However, as time and appointment availability permit, a limited number of CT Heart Calcium Scans and screening mammograms may be performed the evening of the event. Those who are unable to have their exam completed that evening will be scheduled for the next available appointment.
In addition to the health screenings, attendees can visit a variety of community organizations and Pershing Health System departments offering health education, demonstrations, wellness resources, and one-on-one conversations with knowledgeable professionals.
Featured participants include Gateway to Hope, providing breast health education, screening navigation, financial assistance, and support services for individuals seeking breast healthcare. Daybreak Salon will offer chair massages and demonstrations of PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) therapy to promote relaxation and wellness. The Linn County Health Department will share information about adult vaccinations, WIC services, breastfeeding support, and other public health resources.
Visitors can also learn about skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and long-term care services from Life Care Center of Brookfield, explore nutrition and wellness products from Plexus, and speak with Senior Life Solutions about mental health, emotional wellness, and behavioral health support.
Pershing Health System’s Financial Resources department will be available to answer questions about financial counseling, payment plans, and assistance options. The Linn County Ambulance District will provide complimentary blood pressure and pulse oximetry checks. Providers from Community Medical Associates, including Tara Swan and Julie Ladd, will offer women’s health education and preventive care information. Pershing Health System’s Diabetes Educator will provide diabetes prevention and management resources, while Dietary Services will share healthy eating tips and nutrition education. Heather Wood, Social Services, will be available to discuss advance directives, durable powers of attorney for healthcare (DPOA), living wills, and other community resources.
To help build excitement for the event and raise awareness of women’s health, Pershing Health System is now selling official Glow & Grow apparel through an online Custom Ink store.
