The Employee Spotlight demonstrates how each employee’s contribution is so important to Pershing. We have fantastic employees that make a difference in the lives of our patients and colleagues every day. With their compassion, empathy, and passion for what they do, they make our days brighter and our lives fuller.

MEET DANNA HAYES

DANNA HAYES, MATERIALS MANAGEMENT DIRECTOR
Materials Management

Danna Hayes is the Materials Management Director and has been with Pershing Health System for 37 years. When asked what she likes best about her position at Pershing, Danna stated, “As the Materials Management Director, I truly enjoy my job. I take pride in working to provide the best products for my coworkers at the best possible price. I enjoy the challenge of staying on budget and finding cost-effective solutions. I also love learning about new products and how they work—it keeps my role both interesting and rewarding.”

Describe one of your heroes?
My heroes are my fellow coworkers. Every single day, they face difficult challenges—whether it’s working through a global pandemic, dealing with short staffing, or pushing forward in the midst of personal or workplace tragedies. Despite it all, they continue to show up with strength, compassion, and resilience. They put smiles on their faces and treat every patient with the respect, dignity, and kindness they deserve. Their dedication and unwavering commitment to caring for others, no matter the circumstances, inspire me daily. They are the quiet heroes among us—doing extraordinary things in the humblest ways.

3 words that people would use to describe you:
Three words people would use to describe me are kind, responsible, and hardworking I strive to treat others with respect, take ownership of my responsibilities, and always put in my best effort. Whether it’s supporting a team or working independently, I do my best to help wherever I can.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my family and always look forward to our vacations. I love exploring new places  Being a mom and a grandmother (Meme) brings me so much joy. I also love my animals and truly enjoy living the peaceful rural lifestyle.

What do you want people to know about PHS?
We may be a small hospital, but we have a big heart. Our team is dedicated, compassionate, and truly cares for every patient like they are family.

MEET REEVA HARRISON

REEVA HARRISON, LABORATORY DIRECTOR
Laboratory

Reeva Harrison is the new Laboratory Director and has been with Pershing Health System for 5 years. When asked what she likes best about her position at Pershing, Reeva stated, “The best part about my position at Pershing is being part of a healthcare team where my behind-the-scenes work plays a vital role in patient care. The lab is constantly evolving with new testing methods and technological advancements which keeps me learning and growing professionally.”

What do you like to do in your free time?
When I’m not at work, you’ll most likely find me at a wrestling match, football game or softball field. My kids are active in sports and I love being there to support them and spend time with other families in our community.

What do you want people to know about PHS?
I want people to know that PHS provides the same standard of care and professionalism as larger facilities, with the added benefit of close-knit teamwork and strong community relationships. We take pride in offering quality healthcare close to home.

MEET NICOLE HOLLOWELL

NICOLE HOLLOWELL, DIRECTOR OF REVENUE CYCLE
Revenue Cycle

Nicole Hollowell is the Director of Revenue Cycle and has been with Pershing Health System for 2 years. When asked what she likes best about her position at Pershing, Nicole stated, “My position at PHS allows me to see firsthand the impact of healthcare in our community. It also gives me the opportunity to tailor several of our programs to better meet community needs. In addition, my role allows me to educate employees, patients, and the community about the importance of healthcare and financial health.”

What do you like to do in your free time?
Sprint Car races, fishing, gardening, and spending time with family and friend’s

I want people to know that our community hospital is more than just a place to receive care—it is a trusted partner in health and wellness. We are deeply rooted in the community we serve, providing compassionate, high-quality care close to home. Beyond medical treatment, we are committed to education, outreach, and programs designed to improve the overall health and financial well-being of our patients and neighbors.

MEET JACQUE GLADBACH

JACQUE GLADBACH

Nursing Administration Secretary

Jacque Gladbach is the Nursing Administration Secretary and has been with Pershing Health System for 9 years. When asked what she likes best about her position at Pershing, Jacque stated, “I love the people I work with, and I have made lifelong friends. The work I do is interesting and I have learned a lot about healthcare.”

Describe one of your heroes?
My sister, Stacey, is one of my heroes. She had breast cancer and went through a lumpectomy along with chemo and radiation. This happened when COVID first happened in our area, and she developed COVID during this time. She still has to have a monthly shot in her stomach with a 16 gauge needle every month. In the meanwhile, she has developed small cell lymphoma and is going through trial medication for that. She is such a fighter and still gardens, cooks wonderful food for our family and works full time.

What is something that most people don’t know about you?
I used to be a HAM radio operator.

What do you like to do in your free time?
Spend time with my family and friends, Go and watch Kansas City Chiefs football (and all NFL games too), Shop and Travel.

 

MEET CARISSA GUNN

CARISSA GUNN

Director of Health Information 

Carissa Gunn is the Director of the Health Information Department and has been with Pershing Health System for 3.5 years. When asked what she likes best about her position at Pershing, Carissa stated, “I like the friendly atmosphere Pershing offers and the wide variety of skills I am able to learn through my position each day. Every day poses a new obstacle/problem for me and my team to put our brains together and solve.”

What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to hang out with my family and friends, go to concerts, and shop.

 

MEET VANESSA FOSTER

VANESSA FOSTER

Medical Coder/ Health Information Department

Vanessa Foster is a Medical Coder in the Health Information Department and has been with Pershing Health System for 2 years. When asked what she likes best about her position at Pershing, Vanessa stated, “I enjoy the people that I work with and that we are a family-based department. The ability to still be available for my kids when needed which, was one of the things I stressed as importance when hired. I appreciate the vast variety of patients that I encounter each day.  The continuing of education that goes with coding, there is always something new to learn. The amount of numbers that I can spout off surprise even me, they are all attached to some procedure or ailment, and I use them frequently.”

Thorough, dependable, hard-working

What do you like to do in your free time?
My kids are very active in a variety of sports and probably my favorite place to be is sitting on the sidelines of whichever sport they are participating in cheering them on and watching them grow.  When I am not doing that, I like to be outdoors floating, fishing, or sitting around a bonfire.

What do you want people to know about PHS?
PHS has a variety of services and continually are trying to improve services to better provide for the patients in our area.
