Meet Mindy Cosgrove: Leading with Heart Across Pershing Health System’s Rural Health Clinics

At Pershing Health System, strong leadership is key to delivering the compassionate, high-quality care our community deserves. That is exactly what patients, and staff will find in Mindy Cosgrove, Rural Health Clinic Director, overseeing both Community Medical Associates (CMA), located inside the hospital’s main entrance, and Meadville Medical Clinic (MMC), located at 101 East Hayward in Meadville.

Mindy brings a unique and inspiring path into healthcare. Before entering the field, she spent 12 years as a Business Manager at a large car dealership. However, her desire to make a deeper impact led her to explore healthcare, where she quickly discovered a perfect fit.

“I was drawn to healthcare because I wanted to help others in a meaningful way,” Mindy shared. “While clinical care was not my path, I realized my strengths aligned with leadership and operations.”

She began her healthcare career in Health Information Management and, within just six months, advanced into clinic leadership. From there, she continued to grow, overseeing multiple high-volume clinics and eventually serving as a Practice Manager. Her journey reflects both her dedication and her natural ability to lead.

A Passion for People and Community

For Mindy, leadership is about more than operations. It is about people.

“I am passionate about leading others and helping guide teams to serve and care for our community effectively,” she said.

That passion is what excites her most about working alongside the teams at both CMA and MMC, groups she describes as deeply committed to their patients and the communities they serve.

A Vision for Local Care

As Rural Clinic Director, Mindy plays a critical role in shaping the patient experience across both clinics and supporting the teams who deliver that care every day.

“The goal is to ensure every patient is treated with the same respect and care we would give our own family,” she explained.

Looking ahead, her focus is clear: maintain the high standard of care patients expect, expand services to better meet community needs, and improve efficiencies to enhance the overall patient experience across both locations.

She also recognizes the unique strengths of rural healthcare.

“There is something special about caring for people you know, your neighbors, friends, and family. That connection matters.”

Care Close to Home Matters

Mindy believes strongly in the importance of accessible, local healthcare.

“When care is close to home, patients are more likely to seek the services they need. And when they trust their providers, outcomes improve.”

With the support of Pershing Health System, patients at both CMA and MMC benefit from access to local radiology, therapy, and laboratory services, making coordinated care easier than ever.

Creating a Welcoming Experience

Mindy wants every patient who walks through the doors of either clinic to feel comfortable and valued.

“It is important that patients feel welcomed and know they are in a trusted environment.”

She also emphasizes the importance of teamwork and kindness.

“When a team works together with respect and compassion, it creates the foundation for great care.”

Life Outside the Clinic

Outside of work, Mindy enjoys spending time with her close-knit family. Whether it is sharing meals, playing games, or watching sports together, those moments are important to her. She and her husband, now empty nesters, are embracing a slower pace of life.

She also enjoys reading daily, knitting chunky blankets, and spending time outdoors, especially fishing.

A Message to the Community

Mindy wants the community to know that both CMA and MMC are here to serve, with teams that truly care.

“If you have not visited one of our clinics, I encourage you to reach out. Our staff is known for providing compassionate, respectful care in a welcoming environment.”
