Pershing Health System (PHS) is inviting community members to take a proactive step toward better health at its upcoming Community Health Fair. This year’s event offers more than just blood testing. It will feature a wide range of low-cost lab tests, free health screenings, and access to valuable community resources.
Hosted by the PHS Laboratory Department, the health fair is designed to make important health services more accessible and affordable while also connecting individuals with organizations that support overall wellness.
Attendees will have access to free screenings, including blood pressure, blood glucose, oxygen saturation, and weight checks. In addition, a variety of low-cost lab tests will be available. They include:
- Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) with Lipid Panel – $30
- Complete Blood Count (CBC) – $15
- Hemoglobin A1c – $20
- Thyroid Profile (TSH & Free T4) – $30
- Vitamin D – $20
- Vitamin B12 – $10
- PSA (Prostate Cancer Screening for men) – $20
For individuals interested in heart health, Pershing Health System will also offer a discounted CT cardiac calcium scoring. The test is normally one hundred dollars but will be available for seventy-five dollars during the event.
In addition to screenings and testing, several vendors and community organizations will be on site to provide information and resources. Participating organizations include Life Line, North Central Missouri Mental Health Center, Linn County Health Department, Senior Benefit Services, the Juvenile Office, Serve Link Home Care, Compassus Hospice, St. Croix Hospice, Elara Caring, and more.
“This event is about more than lab work. It is about bringing together services and resources that support the health of our entire community,” said Nicky Elliott, Phlebotomist from Pershing Health System.
Participants are encouraged to fast for twelve hours prior to completing the Comprehensive Metabolic Panel with Lipid Panel to ensure accurate results. Testing is open to adults, and payment is required at the time of service. No insurance or physician order is needed.
The Community Health Fair reflects Pershing Health System’s ongoing commitment to preventive care and to providing high-quality services close to home.
