Community Medical Associates (CMA) is pleased to welcome Julie Ladd, Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to the team – expanding access to compassionate, patient-centered care with the added convenience of both walk-in visits and scheduled appointments right here at home.
Julie brings with her not only strong clinical training, but a lifelong passion for caring for others—something that began at a very young age.
“My passion for healthcare started when I was just a little girl,” Julie shared. “When my mom became sick with leukemia, I became her ‘at-home nurse’ at the age of seven. That’s really where it all began.”
That early experience shaped a career built on empathy, dedication, and a deep desire to improve the lives of others.
Julie earned both her nursing degree and graduate education from Graceland University and chose to become a Nurse Practitioner to expand her ability to care for patients in a meaningful way.
“I wanted to provide care that truly enhances my patients’ quality of life,” she said.
At CMA, Julie is especially passionate about primary care, where she can treat patients of all ages and build lasting relationships with families.
“I love getting to know my patients,” Julie said. “Seeing improvements in their health and in their everyday lives is the most rewarding part of what I do.”
Her approach to care is rooted in a holistic philosophy, focusing on the whole person—not just symptoms.
“I believe in meeting patients where they are,” she explained. “Care should be realistic, personalized, and something that truly makes their life better. I also believe patients should be part of their care decisions every step of the way.”
Originally from rural Missouri, Julie grew up outside of Lee’s Summit but always felt drawn to small-town life. With family ties to the New Boston area, she knew this community was where she wanted to call home.
“I love the small community and family-focused care that Pershing Health System provides,” she said.
When she’s not caring for patients, Julie enjoys spending time outdoors—gardening, canning homemade favorites like jelly and pasta sauce, fishing, hunting, and enjoying the rural lifestyle she loves.
