The Employee Spotlight demonstrates how each employee’s contribution is so important to Pershing. We have fantastic employees that make a difference in the lives of our patients and colleagues every day. With their compassion, empathy, and passion for what they do, they make our days brighter and our lives fuller.

MEET TONJA CORAM

TONJA CORAM
Environmental Services

Tonja Coram is our Environmental Services Supervisor and has been with Pershing Health System for 15 years. In her free time, Tonja enjoys spending time with her family and watching her grandson, Xavier at his sporting events. One thing most people don’t know about Tonja is that her grandmother, Alice Coram was also the Environmental Services Supervisor at PHS in the 1970’s.

Describe one of your heroes?
My grandfather, Lavern Langwell taught me everything I know about hard work. I worked beside him, helping him to remodel homes and build decking.

What are 3 words that people would use to describe you?
Hardworking, dependable and energetic

 

MEET BEVERLY CHIOLERO

BEVERLY CHIOLERO
Admissions

Beverly Chiolero is a Patient Access Representative in our Admissions Department and has been with Pershing Health System for 15 years. When asked what she wanted people to know about PHS, Beverly stated, “I want people to know that the Emergency Department at Pershing has highly qualified Doctors and our nursing staff is top notch. I have witnessed firsthand the life-saving techniques this staff has done. I’m so glad we have Pershing here in our community. I could not imagine our area without it and I encourage you to come to Pershing for your health care needs.”

What do you like best about your position at Pershing?
My favorite part of being the admissions clerk in the ER is the variety of people and emergencies I encounter. Every time I walk through the door it’s a different night. You never know what or who you will be dealing with. It’s like a new adventure every night.

What is something that you would like to learn how to do?
I’ve always enjoyed being around animals of all kinds and I would love to work at an animal sanctuary for elephants. I saw my first elephant at the circus when I was 6 years old and have had a love for them ever since. I know that sounds crazy but if the opportunity comes up, I would be the first to volunteer.

 

MEET BRIAN CASEBOLT

BRIAN CASEBOLT
Pharmacy

Brian Casebolt is our Director of Pharmacy and has been with Pershing Health System for 23 years. When asked what he likes best about his position at PHS, he stated, “I am given the opportunity to impact patients in a positive way by helping to improve their health. I also get to work with some terrific people and provide guidance related to medications.”

Describe one of your heroes?
My father.  He was both tough and caring.  He was smart and confident but also humble in his approach to others.

What is something that you would like to learn how to do?
Learn to play guitar or piano

MEET MAEGAN CAIN

MAEGAN CAIN
Dietary Services

Maegan Cain is our Dietary Supervisor and has been with Pershing Health System for 4 years. When asked what she liked best about her position at PHS, Maegan stated, “I adore my work family! I have made some irreplaceable friendships while being here. We really do care about one another here and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”

What is something that you would like to learn how to do?
I want to learn how to crochet.
 

What are 3 words that people would use to describe you?
I would hope it would be genuine, trustworthy and loving. I strive to be those 3 things.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy spending any time I can get with my grown children. One is in Japan in the Marines and one is in Columbia in college, so I don’t get to see them much, but they are the light of my life. I have a Frenchie named Archie that is also one of the loves of my life. I also like to read and watch movies.  

What do you want people to know about PHS?
That we really are much more than a “band-aid station” that people call us. This hospital has grown in so many ways and we have really good doctors and nurses that truly care about their patients. Not to mention all of the outpatient services we provide and the specialty doctors that come here for your convenience.

MEET DONNA BURTON

DONNA BURTON
Community Medical Associates

Donna Burton is a Clinic Referral Specialist and has been with Pershing Health System for 10 years. One thing most people don’t know about Donna is that she loves quilts and enjoys making them as well as collecting them. When asked what she liked best about her position at PHS, Donna stated “I love helping our patients get their appointments scheduled with the specialists.”

What are 3 words that people would use to describe you?
Fun, outgoing, and helpful.

What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time I love spending time with my family. We love to spend the summer weekends camping, riding side by side, and enjoying the outdoors.  We spend a lot of summer nights watching my daughter’s softball games and my son’s baseball games.  In the winter months, I love working on quilts.

MEET TAMALA BROWNING, RN

TAMALA BROWNING, RN
Nursing Administration

Tamala Browning, RN is the Chief Nursing Officer at Pershing Health System and has been with PHS for seven years. When asked what she wanted people to know about PHS, Tamala said, “We are a small hospital and frequently called a ‘band-aid’ station, but when we are needed we all show up and get any incident taken care of.”

What do you like best about your position at Pershing?
What I like most about my job at Pershing is the people. We have a small team, but we are always there to help each other out when needed.

What are 3 words that people would use to describe you?
I can best be described as always willing to help out, easy to get along with, and like to have fun.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to spend my free time with my family and traveling. We enjoy traveling to the different baseball and football stadiums in other states. My dream is to someday live in Mexico where it is sunny and warm all the time.

Meadville Medical Clinic

Donna Braymer is a Registered Nurse at the Meadville Medical Clinic and has been with PHS for one year. When asked what she wanted people to know about PHS, Donna stated, “My co-workers really do care about this community and all our patients. I see them treat people like family and it is amazing.”

Describe one of your heroes?
My Mother. I always wanted to grow up to be just like her. Now I definitely look like her, and I work every day to be a kind, caring, hardworking person that she is. 

What is something that you would like to learn how to do?
I would love to learn how to play the violin so if anyone out there knows how, I need some lessons!

What do you like to do in your free time?
Read and work at the long forgotten cemetery that I have adopted.

 

MEET BRITTNEY BEAN

Medical/Surgical

Brittney Bean is a Certified Nursing Assistant in the Medical/Surgical unit and has been with PHS for one year. When asked what she liked best about her position at PHS she stated, “I love being able to help those in need and the amazing co-workers that have become like family to me.”

What is something most people don’t know about you?
I still absolutely love Disney movies. If I am given the option of a Disney movie or something else, I will always choose the Disney.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy crocheting and spending time with my friends and family.

Rachael Bean is a Patient Access Representative in our Admissions department and has been with PHS for one year. When asked what she liked best about her position at PHS, Rachael stated, “I enjoy meeting people from the community and the relationships I have made with my co-workers.”

I have two reptiles – a snake and a bearded dragon.

What do you like to do in your free time?
Spend time with my family and cooking/baking.

MEET KENDRA BAUM, RN

KENDRA BAUM, RN, BSN
Medical/Surgical Unit

Kendra Baum is a Registered Nurse in the Medical/Surgical unit and has been with PHS for 1 year. When asked what she likes best about PHS, Kendra stated, “The thing I like most about being a nurse at Pershing is my coworkers. To do this job, you must have teamwork, and my coworkers are always willing to lend a helping hand. I have known most of these people my whole life because my mom has been working at this facility since before I was born. Therefore, my coworkers have become more like family to me, and I could not do this job without them.”

Describe one of your heroes?
One of my heroes would have to be my Grandma Nadine. She is someone that I have always looked up to and strived to be like. She always has a positive attitude and is the most kind, caring, and thoughtful person I know. She has always supported me and encouraged me to reach my goals and has helped me not only become the nurse that I am, but the person I am today.

What is something that you would like to learn how to do?
Something I would like to learn how to do is gardening. I love plants and I have a whole sunroom full of house plants at my new house, but I have never had space for a garden until now, so next summer I would like to try to plant a garden.

What is something most people don’t know about you?
Something that most people do not know about me is that my husband, Abram and I are high school sweethearts. We have been together for 8 years and married for 4. We started dating in 2015, the summer before my junior and his senior year and have been together ever since. He has been incredibly supportive during my nursing journey, and I would not be where I am today without him.

3 words that people would use to describe you:
Honest, dependable, helpful

What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I like to spend time with my husband and our cats and dog. We recently bought a house here in town and have remodeled it, so we like to spend our free time relaxing in our new home.

What do you want people to know about PHS?
I want people to know that Pershing is a wonderful place to work and to receive care. I have worked at other health care facilities, but nothing compares to Pershing. I love the staff and how friendly everyone is and when it comes to receiving care here, we have some amazing health care providers who are knowledgeable and compassionate about the health of their patients.
